World Robot Summit 2018

World Robot Summit 2018

JOHNAN will be participating in World Robot Summit 2018 (WRS 2018), hosted by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the New Energy Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). WRS is an international robotics event consisting of a robot competition and a robot exhibition, which aims to 1) bring together the most advanced robot technologies from around the world and accelerate robot R&D through competition, and 2) showcase actual cases where robots solve difficult challenges that arise, deepen people’s understanding of robots, and accelerate implementation of robots in society. WRS 2018 will be regarded as the preliminary event of WRS 2020.

WRS will feature two events: 1) World Robot Challenge (WRC), in which robots compete with one another and 2) World Robot Expo (WRE), where the latest robotic technologies will be exhibited. A total of 8 challenges under 4 categories (Industrial Robotics, Service Robotics, Disaster Robotics and Junior) are planned for the event.
